AMC TV Monsterfest Classic Horror Trailers
Not to get all nostalgic, but I kind of miss movies like this on regular commercial TV (usually UHF or close to it) on a hot July childhood afternoon, when you were better off hiding inside under the fan watching TV than outside in the blazing sun. I think I have seen all of those movies except for Dr. Phibes Rises Again. Does any other Utard remember Big Money Movie? Sci Fi Theater? Nightmare Theater? ¶ 10:09 AM

I didn't grow up here, but I remember an amazing Saturday afternoon program in L.A. that showed old horror movies. The host, named Seymour, dressed in black and wearing a fedora, would interject during the movie--like pop-up video, old school. The host of one of SLC's afternoon movie programs, Bernie Calderwood, was in my old LDS ward, and died not so long ago. That is all.

One of my best memories in childhood was watching Thriller Theater every Saturday afternoon (on UHF--Channel 20 I think)--and no one else who grew up in Utah seems to remember it. Ben, the Blob, Island of the Ants. And all the great Vincent Price/ Poe flicks--I loved those shots where the actors' faces (or the cat) would be elongated. What I wouldn't give to have Vincent Price on my tv every Saturday. (btw, interesting bit of Vincent Price trivia--in addition to a variety of psychotics, he also played Joseph Smith in Brigham Young, Fronteirsman (now there's a movie).
